Happy Thursday! Found the research and data you need to know if you have a mud ball next time you play (bottom of this email)! Make sure to write that down or screenshot for the next time you play. β Watching great players practice and train to see what habits and tactics we can learn from. Answering the question... what the heck do players do between tournaments anyways on off weeks?! We mocked up a logo for the series this week. What do you think? To test this, they used a robot to hit balls with mud on different partsβright, left, top, bottom, front, and back. They found that:
Mud on the ball also caused the ball to travel shorter distances.
When the mud was on the back or bottom of the ball, the ball traveled even shorter because the club hit the mud before hitting the ball, reducing energy transfer.

Once you know which pattern you fall into, a lot of other stuff starts to click.
