It finally happened. For the first time in my life I have a recorded shot over 180mph ball speed. This past week I hit 181! π β‘οΈ Watch it happen here β What a journey it's been this year! I've travelled all over learning from some incredible folks and been putting in work to see some gains. Now we have to figure out how to take that to the golf course π³ Here's the sheet of my tracked training sessions if you're interested. What I find surprising is that I've had the club head speed and haven't really set a new high speed record all year. But what you can't see from the sheet is I can now easily hit 120 mph+ and stay there. Before I could only do it once or twice and it was a mystery of how I got there and how to repeat it. I'm starting to better understand the skill of speed. β

We have a new episode of the road to 180 launching today! SO if you're not subscribed make sure to do that on the youtube channel. β
We have over 60+ hours into this edit.
Crazy interesting stuff. (And you can watch me hit a ball 340+ yards)
β
You need to understand dispersion patterns + how to aim.
A breakthrough moment for me was talking with Scott Fawcett and learning how every tour player on average hits their driver with about a 65-70 yard dispersion.
π― So you just need to find a 65-70 yard wide spot on each hole and if there's not OB or water blast away at the center target of where you can aim your dispersion patter.
GAME CHANGER.
This concept gives you freedom to swing freely with the driver and know that you won't lose a ball.
Now if I'm playing a new course I'll pull up his Decade or Shot Pattern app, before the round and figure out exactly where to aim so I won't lose a ball and suddenly a lot of stress and tension fades away with this plan in place.
What most people donβt realize is when your hitting the driver you have to get rid of the notion that your aiming a sniper rifle and hitting it right on your spot.
You actually have a shotgun and need to center that blast in the area that gives you the highest chance of keeping the ball in play and going farthest down the hole as possible.
And in my opinion you have to map this out looking at GPS or a map. Itβs just too deceiving to try and figure out the 70 yard wide landing spot unless youβre getting the facts from a map.
What you might realize is that thereβs tons of room in the rough or not on the fairway so youβll need to start aiming away from the center of fairways.
But the increased distance (even though itβs in the rough) will benefit you when looking at the strokes gained data.
The end results of playing with clear targets has been hitting more drivers and keeping the ball in play more consistently.
Don't forget we have a new Youtube episode launching!!!
SO if you're not subscribed make sure to do that on the youtube channel. β
Till next time,

Walked around The Players on Tuesday. One of my favorite tournaments of the year and I always come back with a few thoughts. Also been testing a new SPEED training aid that I'm really into. I found a study + some data this week that every single golfer needs to think about. It's simple to understand and you can put it into practice TOMORROW. Here's what's in this newsletter: 35 out of 40 golfers chipped better this way. The arm-lock hybrid grip. Justin Kraft showed me something that made me immediately pull up my own swing on video. There are two distinct wrist patterns on tour. 60% of pros use one. 20% use another (60+20=100% π§ ). Once you know which pattern you fall into, a lot of other stuff starts to click.
